Wave Tank

Introduction

The wave test pool of Noshirvani University of Technology in Babol was designed and built by the engineering team of the research laboratory of hydrodynamics, acoustics and marine propulsion of this university. This pool is capable of producing regular water waves in a wide range of height and wave period characteristics. Examples of this pools applications include performance testing, bracing and survivability of various types of wave energy converters, offshore wind turbines and tidal turbines, testing models of surface and subsurface submarine, investigating the movement of submarines and maneuvering tests, investigating the hydrodynamic and hydrostatic principles of marine structures.

 Wave maker

The wave maker system designed for this pool provides the possibility of testing in 15 arm lengths with a horizontal displacement of 6 to 36 cm for the wave maker plate. This system is equipped with a 5 kW motor, a speed reduction gearbox and an inverter, and provides the motor speed from 10 to 100 rpm for the wave maker system.

 Wave damper

The purpose of the designed wave damper is to simulate the seashore and prevent the turbulence of return waves and their collision with the converter. This damper can be adjusted in 4 modes, which can be changed for different water depths.
